I’m so pleased to have had Gene Guernsey & Associates help in selling my home and finding a new one for me and my children. They made the process so easy, even through a tough season of life. I am truly grateful for their kindness, patience, and hard work!

I rented from Gene Guernsey and was disappointed with how my security deposit was handled at move-out. He retained approximately half of my deposit and did not include the pet deposit in the refund. The reasons provided for the deductions were inaccurate and, in my view, unjustified. I was charged for alleged pet-related issues that were not present at move-out, exterior stucco repairs for damage I did not cause, a garbage disposal that only functioned for approximately one month during my tenancy, and damaged blinds that were already noted on the move-in checklist. Those same blinds were later replaced for the new tenants, despite the fact that I was charged for them. Had I known I would be responsible for their replacement, I would have addressed the issue myself at the beginning of the lease. I was not a problem tenant, was never late on rent, and took care of the property. I also recorded a move-out video and provided it to him as documentation of the unit’s condition upon departure. Despite this, a portion of my deposit was still withheld. I am currently within the legal timeframe to pursue recovery and intend to take further action once I return to Texas. Overall, I found this experience to be highly disappointing and believe the handling of my deposit lacked fairness and transparency. I would caution others to thoroughly document everything and fully understand how deposits are managed before renting from Gene Guernsey and Celeste Guernsey.

While buying a house can be overwhelming for anyone, Gabby Guernsey set us at ease throughout the entire home-buying process. She really cared about our personal preferences in selecting the perfect house and made sure all our concerns and questions were answered without fail.
