We recently worked with Aiden Avtgis at Remax to sell our home, and unfortunately our experience was far from what we expected. Out of respect for the profession, I want to be honest yet fair in sharing our experience so other homeowners can make an informed decision. Throughout our listing period, communication was a major issue. Our text messages and Phone calls often went unanswered, and we struggled to get timely updates or clarification on important parts of the selling process. This made the experience stressful and left us feeling uninformed about what was actually happening with our listing. We were also told that lowering the price of our home would be a “disservice” to us. However, after we chose to terminate the contract, we learned that he had been telling others that the reason our home didn’t sell was because we refused to drop the price. Additionally, we discovered that he had been telling other agents that we supposedly had “high interest” or “someone getting ready to write an offer,” which seemed aimed at trying to drive higher offers. Unfortunately, this approach backfired, and we ended up with no offers at all. After parting ways, we chose a new realtor, and the difference was immediate. They were honest, communicative, and proactive in everything they did. We felt truly supported and informed from the moment we hired them, and the sale process finally moved forward the way it should have from the beginning. While our experience with our first realtor was disappointing, we are grateful to have found someone who genuinely had our best interest at heart.
